Senior Leadership
Rowland Edwardes
National Director - Minerals
Rowland (Roly) is an Engineer and Project Manager with over 30 years’ experience in the mining and minerals sector in roles including design, study management, EPCM project management, engineering management, business leadership, and business development.
As National Director, Roly leads BG&E Minerals’ strategy, team development, and external business development, with particular focus on studies and major projects. He is also responsible for business development in South Australia.
Phil Tighe
Regional Director Eastern
Phil is a business leader, Project Manager, and sessional academic with over 40 years’ experience in the resources sector, with particular expertise in Australia’s eastern coal sector. This includes 11 years at Sinclair Knight Merz where Phil was Manager Mining and Minerals for Queensland and NSW.
As Regional Director QLD, Phil is responsible for business leadership and business development in Queensland. As National Operations Manager, Phil leads BG&E Minerals’ operational and project delivery nationally, with early focus on establishing robust business and project systems.
Neil Gunn
Regional Director Western
Neil has worked for BG&E for more than 17 years as a Principal Structural Engineer in Perth, where he has undertaken significant design projects in the Western Australian mining sector.
As Regional Director WA, Neil is responsible for business development in Western Australia.
Jude Sneesby
Mining and Industrial Lead - Eastern
Jude brings a unique blend of technical, operational, and strategic expertise to the team. With over 20 years of experience across the mining and construction sectors, particularly the eastern coal sector, Jude has developed extensive capability in operations and project delivery.
As Mining and Industrial Lead, Jude is responsible for business development in Minerals, Metals and Energy Sectors.
Emily Kirkpatrick
Legal Counsel
Emily is Deputy General Counsel of BG&E having been with the business for more than 7 years and currently sitting on the Risk Management Group. With over 10 years’ legal experience in the construction and engineering sectors, Emily has extensive industry knowledge and works closely with project teams to successfully deliver projects.

Anthony Wood
Non-Executive Director
Anthony has been with BG&E for 18 years and has been an Executive Director since 2019. He sits on the Executive Leadership Team and is the chair of the Investment Committee.
Derek Heiden
Non-Executive Director
Derek has been with BG&E for over 20 years and currently sits on the Executive Leadership Team, Finance & Audit committee, Risk Management Group, and DEI committee.
In 2015 Derek established BG&E’s engineering office in Victoria.
David Farah
Non-Executive Director
David has spent more than 20 years working at BG&E and has been an Executive Director since 2014.
David has also been a Non-Executive Director of Vesuvian and Agilitus, both engineering businesses servicing the resources sector.
In 2010 David established BG&E’s Queensland engineering office.

Frank Cerra
Advisory Board Chair
Frank has worked for BG&E for more than 30 years and since 2011 has been Managing Director, leading remarkable growth from approximately 200 employees to over 1,100.
Frank was previously a Director of Agilitus. His knowledge of BG&E, together with his experience in engineering services, business leadership, and company growth, are invaluable to BG&E Minerals.
Matthew Allen
Advisory Board Member
Matthew has worked at Mineral Technologies for more than 20 years in roles including Mechanical Design Engineer, Study Manager, Project Manager, and Engineering Manager.
He is a specialist in mineral sands and iron ore processing, having worked on projects in Australia, Africa, and North America with customers including Tronox, Iluka, and Rio Tinto. Matthew brings expertise in mineral sands, iron ore, critical minerals, and experience in leading and growing engineering businesses.
