Senior Leadership

Rowland Edwardes

National Director - Minerals

Rowland (Roly) is an Engineer and Project Manager with over 30 years’ experience in the mining and minerals sector in roles including design, study management, EPCM project management, engineering management, business leadership, and business development.

As National Director, Roly leads BG&E Minerals’ strategy, team development, and external business development, with particular focus on studies and major projects. He is also responsible for business development in South Australia.

Phil Tighe

Regional Director - QLD / National Operations Manager

Phil is a business leader, Project Manager, and sessional academic with over 40 years’ experience in the resources sector, with particular expertise in Australia’s eastern coal sector. This includes 11 years at Sinclair Knight Merz where Phil was Manager Mining and Minerals for Queensland and NSW.

As Regional Director QLD, Phil is responsible for business leadership and business development in Queensland. As National Operations Manager, Phil leads BG&E Minerals’ operational and project delivery nationally, with early focus on establishing robust business and project systems.

Neil Gunn

Regional Director WA

Neil has worked for BG&E for more than 17 years as a Principal Structural Engineer in Perth, where he has undertaken significant design projects in the Western Australian mining sector.

As Regional Director WA, Neil is responsible for business development in Western Australia.

Anthony Wood

Non-Executive Director

Anthony has been with BG&E for 18 years and has been an Executive Director since 2019. He sits on the Executive Leadership Team and is the chair of the Investment Committee.

Derek Heiden

Non-Executive Director

Derek has been with BG&E for over 20 years and currently sits on the Executive Leadership Team, Finance & Audit committee, Risk Management Group, and DEI committee.

In 2015 Derek established BG&E’s engineering office in Victoria.

David Farah

Non-Executive Director

David has spent more than 20 years working at BG&E and has been an Executive Director since 2014.

David has also been a Non-Executive Director of Vesuvian and Agilitus, both engineering businesses servicing the resources sector.

In 2010 David established BG&E’s Queensland engineering office.

Paul Farrugia

Company Secretary

Paul is a Chartered Accountant and GAICD and has been at BG&E for 6 years. He has been an Executive Director since 2021 and sits on the Executive Leadership Team.

Paul is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Commercial Officer for BG&E.
