BG&E was commissioned to provide specialist hydrological and hydraulic analysis of various rivers and creeks associated with the design and construction of a 28km overland conveyor from the proposed Western Turner mine site to the existing rail load-out facilities at Tom Price mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The project also included detailed hydrological assessment of the Western Turner mine site, site offices, accommodation camp and access road.

  • Design verification of proposed drainage structures
  • Recommendations to improve proposed drainage structures
  • Hydraulic analysis and reporting of 4 bridge sites suitable for design to AS 5100, including Hardey River
  • Provision of embankment protection requirements due to lateral flow forces
  • Identification of appropriate pad elevations for accommodation village, conveyor drive stations and site offices
