This project involved the Detailed Engineering Study (DES) of a 28km sealed road linking the Brockman 2 mine to the proposed Brockman 4 mine site. BG&E’s responsibilities on this project were for the route alignment selection, detailed road design, development of a drainage strategy, hydrological analysis of catchments, hydraulic design of culverts, assessment of roadside hazards, design of road furniture, discussion of construction risks and the production of a schedule of quantities to allow the production of a cost estimate to within ±10%.
